Optimal Integration of Hybrid Energy Systems: A Security-Constrained Network Topology Reconfiguration

The integration of distributed energy resources, such as wind farms (WFs) and storage systems (ESSs), into distribution networks can lower the economic cost power generation. However, it is essential to consider operational constraints, including loading margin, which ensures security line contingency. This study aims develop a comprehensive hourly network reconfiguration (HDNR) model minimize for generation company. considers optimal allocation WFs ESSs in terms capacity location, well status switches, based on constraints. proposed applied an IEEE 33-bus test system, capacities locations are determined. impacts constraints ESSs, configuration network, analyzed two case studies. In Case Study I, solved with HDNR conditions, while II without these restrictions, comparison purposes. results show that affected by when considered highlight crucial role under contingency outages. three optimally allocated, changes location margin varies.
